Our approach to curriculum
Learning and life is a journey, not a destination. So we believe in supporting all children to succeed in that journey, at their own pace and in their own unique way.
Nature connections
Did you know regular connections with nature help to reduce stress, enhance learning, physical and mental health.
We do! That's why nature connections are a part of our DNA at KRCC.
The Early Years Learning Framework
We run our programs in accordance with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Framework for Australia.

play based learning
"Play is the work of children" - Maria Montessori. Find out why play based learning is so much more effective at preparing children for life (and school) than 'chalk and talk' instruction.
National Quality Standard
Kinglake Ranges Children's Centre is one of 34 services in Australia to receive ACECQA's Excellent rating (2024). Find out more about the Excellent Rating
Behaviour guidance
Everyone has the capability to manage their own behaviour - even children. We believe in guiding children towards managing their own behaviour - not managing it for them. This is a key life skill and an important success indicator
OWNA
We use OWNA as our main communications platform with families.
